Silence (Ghazal Poem)

I speak in tones of silence. Every detail of me grows in volumes of silence.

Under street lights and wide moon eyes, I can hear your voice against all this. It’s safer in simple silence.

Talk to me honestly, sincerely-meekly. Speak loudly, callously, and harshly-I will drown you out in silence.

I will listen word for word and heart to heart. Just let me have a diamond worth of silence.

Simple child and peculiar I am to listen to every hum waiting to be sung. I’m always drawn to it, my comforting silence.
