Silence from Within

Location

Footsteps echo,

on the soft carpeted floor.

Chairs creak,

from the restlessness.

Noses sniffle,

the person breathes.

Paper crinkles,

a hand writes.

Covers thud,

books are found.

Sighs are uttered,

from the stacks.

Silence reigns,

all within.

Air shudders,

the void is opened.

Music begins,

a book. . . is opened.

(Library silence is deafening, only the music of the books fill the void)
