Simply Being

There will come a day,

When praising the lord and wishing on  a star will not suffice;

There will come a day;

When earth is nothing but a simple rock,

Where there is no life form to reproduce;

When every footstep becomes an echo within the darkest of shadows.

Where every piece of land will be submerged beneath the depths of the ocean.

Tell me,

Why do we find the need to put others down?

A father, a sister, a mother a brother.

You ain't gettin' no glory.

You ain't testifyin' upon no god.

Why preach lies that only spread hate.

Why preach hate when you can preach love.

There's people screamin' at the top of their lungs,

"look at me i got stacks of green"

But why scream you got stacks when all you got is hate.

Why hate when you can love.

There will come a day,

When neither gender nor color will define true potential.

There will come day when MLK's dream will come true.

Where we will be judged by the content of our character and not by the color of our skin.

Where we will be judged by our actions and not the language we choose to speak.

There will come a day,

Where nothing else matters,

but to simply just, be.
