Sinking Ship

An ocean of my blood and tears
killing me with my own fears.
I let myself drown
in all this misery.
You can try
but I won't let you save me.

I want to go down
deep into the water.
I want the current
to pull me under.
The more I worry,
the deeper I go.
The more I struggle,
the faster I drown.

What's the sense in rescuing me
when I am past my prime?
Nothing left to live for
so why am I alive?
I'll give in to the water.
I'll give in to the tide
While the blackness
creeps in over my eyes.

Immense pressure on my chest
like my lungs could explode.
The waves force me down
and it feels like home.
