Sitting & Thinking

Location

Sitting here trying not to think,
Trying not to think of you.
From your smile to your wink,
everything about you had m,e wooed.

But I try to end it,
I try to make it go away.
My mother said "Darlin don't force it,"
"Maybe he's there to stay."

But why stay there?
Why stay there when you never cared?
You were never here nor there,
and I watched your love evaporate into thin air.

So don't tell me our love wasn't meant to be
You gave up!
You never cared for me,
So we broke up

We had love and an amazing future,
but to you it doesn't matter,
we couldn't even fix us with a suture
and you ended up listening to the chatter.

You were drowning in the opinions of them
and you were up to your neck in lies.
I begged and pleaded for you to swim,
but in the end, you never heard my cries.

So I sit here and I think,
about what we could've been.
But I realize in love, you either swim or sink,
And I don't wanna go through that again.
