A Skinny Body

Location

Inside, they consume me

the words of society

filled with rejection

My heart aches and throbs

as I'm wrapped in the image

of pure pefection

Yet I can not grasp

no matter the cost I take,

the hunger, the pain

Countless hours spent

counting, weighing, measuring,

only to fall short

And as I glance at

myself before the mirror,

hating what I see

I can only think

and dream and strive toward who I

think I should become

A perfect image

with happiness received by

a skinny body
