Slam Behind The Curtain- I'm Behind That Curtain
Location
When that curtain opens I am the center of attention. I'm confident, happy, and a joy to look at. You see me as you want to see me; you see what I show. An actor and a character role, but never the real me. I hide the saddness and the hate that lingers inside me.
As I play the role of a loving daughter to a wonderful father on stage, I weep behind the curtain for never knowing or loving mine.
As I play the role of a princess in a huge castle on stage, I weep behind the curtain unknowing where my castle will be for me to sleep tonight.
As I play the role of a chef on stage, I weep behind the curtain not knowing if I will have a real meal today.
As I play the role of a character that is a part of a loving family on stage, I weep behind the curtain knowing that I will never have that.
The reality is that I'm an actor so you will see a stong, indepedent and dedicated women. I will not break! If I show you the real me, pitty, saddness and hate emerges; and then I fail. So I hide the real me behind the curtin.
