Small moments change

Saturday morning cartoons,

Walking to the donut shop with old pink walls and stale coffee,

Listening to my moms heart beat for me,

Staring at the sun,

Dancing with Britney Spears on tv,

Giggling through the night with a friend,

Staying in the pool too long with wrinkly toes,

My dad was strong, my mom funny and beautiful.

The tree I thought was so big and beautiful when I was young hunches over now fighting the curves and rot,

just trying its best in the blistering sun.
