A Smile That Means So Much

Even as a child, I new his super power,

He could light up the tallest buildings, even the Willis tower.

He would take me to the batting cages, and ice cream shops galore,

But there was never a stop we took, where his smile lacked a score.

Just one smile would make you feel, like you had a friend for life,

It’s the kind of smile that makes you feel so warm, and cozy at night.

He would make a strangers day,

In the park full of clouds of gray.

I had to share him with the world,

He would leave so many cheeks pink and pearled.

When I was black and blue, a look was all it took,

But not from me or you,

From the man, whose smile that meant so much.
