SMILES GARLANDED WITH MARIGOLDS

(Inspired from true stories of suicides before the formation of Telangana state in India)

Fraction of life

Left with those parents

Living with drooping shoulders and

Blurred both worlds

Can only stare the mourning oval flame

Blinking in front of an everlasting smile

Seen everywhere in the patchy visual field

Those everlasting smiles garlanded with marigold flowers

The oval flame

Ever releases never ending streams

Restlessly tangled on coves

The oval flame

Changes size and shape

With changing dawn and dusk wind and weathers

The shadow of Banyan trees

Gave them no more peace

Pink blossoms and scent of jasmines

Cannot bring back those historic smiles

The smiles garlanded with marigolds

Shadows 10 districts Telangana flags

With life and breathe

Awaiting precession melody in burial grounds

Those parents cannot sing

Triumph of Telangana songs

Before joining their loved ones

Too far in mighty heavens
