Smoke another cigarette to take

Location

Smoke another cigarette to take you away

You say the nicotine keeps you sane,

but we both know.

You used to take a pill to help with the numbness,

now they help with the boredom.

Do you remember your old self?

I see it sometimes, peaking out when you talk about school or your ex’s.

I keep an outline of you in my head, a rough sketch of how you used to be.

If you stayed that way forever, you’d still be perfect to me.
