A Soldier's Anthem

For we were trapped in the faceless conformity, of a place that we are foreign to.

The feeling of being lost overwhelms us, as though we may never be found.

The most solace we feel is from our memories; the memories of a happier time.

As to say, without the previous moments that we felt definite joy, and the past times we felt a sense of purpose, then we would be happier now.

We will cease the resistance of the breakdown of our individualities.

We will submit our roles as human beings.

We are soldiers

We are soldiers

We are soldiers

These are the words we speak as we watch the boys in the mirror become men.

For the blood of America runs through our veins and swells our bodies with life,

For us to spill on the battle field to forever stain the earth.

For we are not men who hate our enemy;

And we are not men that care for heroism.

We are simply men who value your freedom more than our own.
