Some Days

Some days I long to be like the ocean

Gently drifting in a world of deep blue

And exotic life forms.

The crest of my waves protect me from the terrors of hate

And even at low tide

I am still loved.

Some days I long to be like the sky

Everchanging and ever-present

A mysterious gift that gazes over all.

When people look at me

They see only wonder and beauty

And even at night

I am still loved.

Some days I long to be like the universe

Infinite and ever-expanding.

No one will ever completely understand me

But that's okay because I've always wanted to be an enigma.

I am filled to the brim with star dust and life

And even when a piece of me explodes

I am still loved.

Some days I long to be invisible

Lost between time and space.

It doesn't matter what I am

Or what I will be

For only the hearts I touch will know me.

And even if I barely exist

I am still loved.

Some days I long to be me

Ordinary and human to my very core

Made of nothing but fear and love.

Most days I do not have a thing to offer

But a few tears and the bottom of my soul

And even though this is all I am

I am still loved.
