Sovereign Freedom
Freedom
Not the sort you find scribed in the antique pages of our American playbook
Not an allowance to speak, to sing, to say what I please
Not the ability to walk outside and know my security
Freedom
The thing I found through tears and suffering
The knowledge of knowing I am loved beyond compare
The sovereignty of the one who gave His life for me
So that I may have
Freedom
The liberation of knowing it’s okay to make mistakes
To live a life of unreserved compassion in a word of transgression and anguish
Knowing that one day
One day I will live in true freedom with the one who gave me this gift
Freedom
