The Space Between My Mothers Loving Arms

Location

Independence, MO
United States

I am from the space between my mothers loving arms

From adventures that never ended in the backyard

I am from the bottom of arms length deep dress up box

And from castles made of cloth held together by clothes pins and pillows

I am from the never ending lake

Whose deep waters bring years woth of laughter and smiles

I am from crayons and stuffed animals

From Kallmeier and Sailor

I am from camping and four wheeling

And from giant dinners that will feed far too many people

From late night movies and extra large bowls of popcorn

I am from praising the name of Jesus

I am from immigrants from Germany and hard working farmers

From mouth waterting pastries and Opa style pancakes

From church builders

And from losing a very loved Oma

And from always having a sippy cup full of warm milk

I am from those moments where friendship is never farther than a walk across the yard

And where true love meets reality
