Spare us the Curriculum

Umm.. excuse me

Miss, ya, my hand was raised yet you ignored my gaze and choose your smart ass niece to give her praise.

I know that I usually dont choose to participate, but you underestimate my phantomlike being.

This time I actually did the reading and wanted to state my opinon with particualr persision.

I dont know if youve heard, but you are reading way to in depth on To Kill a Mocking Bird.

Yes, I see the big picture of prejudice and injustice by these cockamame characters, but just trust that I speak for all of us when I say:

He simply just wanted to give his son a pocketwatch

With you, its like debating identical shades on a color swatch.

at the end of the day apple panini and strawberry martini are both just red

Yes, a pocketwatch could mean safety and securtity and maturity but at the end of the day your getting heels over head.

Why do you insist to bore our minds with bland knowledge

how are your stale lessons going to teach me for life beyond college?

We have more intrest in our phone then hearing you drone on about an assignment none of us plan to do at home.

Why cant you teach us how to balance a checkbook or what to do if your mugged by a crook or hobies other than facebook.

How can I learn these life skills if im confined to walls that are so still.

I’d commend you if you even tryed to grab our attention, but if we speak our mind we end up in detension and a suspension while you watch your rising pensision.

Miss, I dont mean this out of disrespect, however you neglect the fundamentals of what it means to feed the minds of us young human beings.

Teachers are supose to help us reach our full potenital, I mean you have the credentials so why not put them to good use?

Dont abuse the fact that when we graduate we are no longer your problem

We have questions and we want your help to solve them.

You hide behind your desk like its some barrier between you and us rabid dogs.

We dont bite unless you do

We are willing to know about this Radley Boo

But you dont present it in a way that makes us care

so we will continue to rock back in our crickety chair, and swivel our necks between you and the clock with the same blank stare.

You could learn a thing or two from Atticus Finch because I dont think teaching is quite your niech.
