Staying Together

when a fig bird goes splashing into my window

I know you threw it
it makes me look into the trees
that droop so low
they are telling a squirrel

come sleep in my palm
and burrow in my leaves to find
sweet brown acorns that will
fill your home with glades

I want you to fill my home with glades
this hill will be crawling with grass rooted into my skin
I won’t want to push you up either
I’ll stay constant by the road
even when
so many cars gonna drive by

This poem is about:
Me
