The Storm

This Storm

With its windy tides

Put me through a hell of a ride

The Storm

Made me change

With its range of events

Running around like blood in my veins

From deaths all around the world

From racism puts my mind in curls

To college life

That made me change

I think I fell for the hype

The storm made its way to my family

Ruling for me

Like Kings and Queens

So I can't be unruly

Pressure is with me

Like a storm with its currents waving

This year however

2017

I believe

I won't bleed in the eye of the storm

I'll achieve

And Grieve

Every piece if nectarine

Of Adam's tree

Cause this is my genesis my new beginning

All through 2016

I saw a storm

That changed who I was

From confidence

To consequence in my mind

I listen to my conscience

And now the storm is gone

Casualties still at large

But victory is within me

As it is within us

All
