The Story of My Life

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Ugh, time to get up.

Sprinkle. Sprinkle. AH!

Hot water gone again.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Burned my breakfast.

Lovely morning, right?

Tick. Tick. Tick.

The hours are so slow.

Push. Push. Shove.

I'm late to class again.

Quiet. Weird. Ugly.

If only they knew me.

But nobody knows me.

Scream. Laugh. Disrespect.

Why can't they stay in seats?

Bump. Stop. Turn.

Why can't I have the first stop?

Crunch. Crackle. Snap.

Leaves give way under me.

The wind swirls, choking me.

Silent. Silent. Silent.

Home alone again.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Mom forgot to cook again.

Think. Please. Think.

Why can't I remember geometry?

I can't do what I don't know.

Click. Click. Click.

Nothing good is on TV.

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Eleven and still no Mom.

Lay. Toss. Turn.

Dream of tomorrow.

When maybe someone will know me.
