The Stranger: A poem to my past self

It's okay to be sad and it's okay to be down

but hey you, Stranger don't hold onto that frown.

I know times are rough and that bully is tough

but hey you, Stranger enough is enough.

Joy is ahead and gratefulness too

so hey you, Stranger don't just yet be subdued.

I know you don't recognize me, for I'm a stranger to you,

but believe it or not, soon you'll be a stranger to you too.

Things get better, life continues on,

and your light will soon shine through like the break of a new dawn
