the strength you built for me

Letting you in was like letting the alcohol rinse inside the alcoholic's mouth

Dangerous, toxic, and satisfying

You kept hurting me, taking advantage of the love I had given

I was broken and used up

The love never turned into hatred, but I was exhausted

You were pushing me away and pulling me back in

But I had enough

I learned to love myself way more than I have loved you

You have been the best thing that has ever happened to me

Because I know now how beautiful I can be without someone like you
