Students Have Issues

Location

Students have issues.

We spend our days sitting in class rooms,

and our nights working minumum wage jobs.

Some of us live on our own,

and others don't have a home at all.

We have needs,

we have responsibilities,

and we have you yelling down at us like animals.

Is it really any surprise why many don't finish?

It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes.

All those tests,

all those lectures,

all those expectations.

Teachers shouldn't expect anything from me.

I'm not an average student and neither is anyone else.

This generation is dealing with a new set of issues,

and the next generation will too.

Don't expect,

just accept.

As long as we're all trying our best.

Understand what makes me different,

and don't treat every student the same.
