Suburban Frenzy

Life in the suburbs
off the Hudson
where everyone lives
in the moment, second
tied up in bows
by cell phone clocks
ticking as they join
the everyday parade
of work - with it's
destination: happiness

Noone has time to think

The engrossing shopping
malls,
the flea markets,
craft fairs,
carnivals,
trips to the shore
bumper on bumper
restaruants dining
on timely chatter

Survival of the Fittest

Anyday you could
be out
to who knows where

Their love entrusted in
family, friends, pets,
livelihoods
Presenting their pennies
without squandering
them
without touching them

Their gleaming
expectations
which they put aside
right now
for a later time
