Sullen Sea

Numbing and naked,

Beguiled by the sullen sea.

Tidal your waves relentlessly

And pour down on me,

Your misery.

But the sea did not comply.

Its sudden stillness struck terror within me.

Not a sound to be heard,

But my own roaring cry,

Creeping out as a cowering whimper.
