The Sun's Son

The little boy felt the calm water with a touch of his tiny hands

The water soothed his worries

He looked up

Smiled

Looked at his sister

Asked her,

"Is that Heaven?"

She giggled,

No silly that's the sun

*

Months have gone by

The cancer has spread

The little boy is weak.

He saw his sister crying,

took her hands in his

Dont cry, he says

The little boy sheds a tear,

he squeezes her hand

"It's time" he mumbles

"Time for what?" She replied.

"It's time for the son."

The little boy is strong

He closes his eyes

his strong grip slowly fades

To nothing
