Sun and Stars

I remember that night

It was bitter and cold...

The light had extinguished,

as if the sun had ceased to burn.

The darkness moved to surround me

Encircling my flesh and piercing my skin.

The shadow slithered slowly through my body

Into my heart where it has stayed.

The absence has overtaken me

Leaving me withered and without purpose

I long for the light

Her light

Her presence is the sun

Her eyes the stars

Her beauty leaves me breathless

She is my love, my light, my life

Without her the world is nothing

With her

Everything is illuminated

Become your own light

and another shall arive

and the two of you will burn brighter

than she ever could without you
