Sunrise

I swore I’d watch this place burn to the ground

See you behind the fire as it danced

Our broken hearts cried out but they were bound

Inside their cage the enemy advanced

These empty streets can't nullify my rage

I sit alone and try to think despite

I pray my fears will in someway assuage

But until then, come sit with me tonight.

And suddenly as we walk down this road

I wouldn’t have it any other way

The thoughts that caused your spirit to erode

Can't touch us as we watch the wake of day

This blushing sky behind a lost-not-found

I promise you I’ll burn it to the ground
