Sunset

The flames die out.

Ghostly traces of red and orange and purple haunt the sky.

The last moments of light cling to the clouds as the weight of the sun is dragged down.

Resting place.

Somberness rises with the moon.

The last dancing shadows melt into darkness.

The star burst explosion is replaced with an indigo blanket.

Creating a space where dreams run rampant and heavy hearts find peace

If only fleeting.

There's comfort to be found in the night

If only in the promise of another day.
