Sunshine

"Don't you dare forget the sun, love"

That's what the song said.

Then the question remains of why?

Why do those words mean so much to me?

Why do they haunt my mind?

The answer is the sunshine.

At night I lay awake,in an internal  battle,

Fighting to stay alive.

But it is that small glimmer of sunshine,

The early morning rays,

That remind me that I lived to see a new day.

The rays bring hope,

That it will be a better day.

They bring the warmth that I long for in my aching bones.

"Don't you dare forget the sun, love"

That's what the song says,

Words that haunt my mind every day.
