Taking a different road

Life can change in just a minute,

One does not even imagine what destiny has prepared for you.

Leaving behind your parents and friends,

Going to a new school, meeting new people, speaking a new language.

Just several of the hardest things an immigrant passes through.

But without imagining the worst events could come during the trip.

Barefoot, hungry, and thirsty children come all around the world expecting a different, a better style of life.

Taking a different road, some of them without thinking they are going to die along the way.

Dying alone when crossing the dessert like homeless animals, some of them fall behind.

Little by little, their souls go away.

Underneath the sun shine, this burns their skin with its intense flames.

Their last breath comes with a soft shout, a shout of help!

Taking a different road, children expect to find their parents, have a new life.

A life where there is no hunger, a life full of happiness.

Taking a different road, running away from poorness, threats, and pain.

Innocent children, taking a different road.

A road of change, hope, and trust.

 A road of faith.
