Why are we so in love with a culture we hate?

We push and pull and try to seperate from the gadgets that we can't let go of.

We sit with friends, real-life people,

but we tap and scroll and like the posts we see on social

to keep up with a friend, a hundred miles away,

while others sit in front of us, and we have nothing to say.

We climb into heavy machinery and turn the key

then text the friend we're about to see.

With not a care in the world for others, even me.

Not a worry in the world about an accident, or death

for, "It's not harmful, not like meth!"

that's what they say, those who text and drive,

but it's not what they say now, while they're alive.

It's when they're gone and can't speak,

to save everyone, the strong and meak from texting and driving to save someone from death, for it IS dangereous, even more so than meth.
