Thanking the stars

I feel myself smile at you
As the Sun sets, rays shining through
Shadows creep past us, my heart beating like a drum
Dancing under the starlight, singing softly, "you're my only one"
We fall down laughing and stay where we land
Looking up I name the constellations I know, as you take my hand
I close my eyes, cross my fingers and wish for my dreams to come true
Turning I notice the Sun beginning to rise on morning dew
Breathing softly our eyes meet
Standing you take my hand and pull me to my feet
In this moment I feel like I'm on a carnival ride
The Ferris wheel is stopped and we're on top
As the Sun sets behind me in your Amber eyes
I close mine, silently thanking the stars we cannot see; for creating you and me
