That's Fine

You are an alcoholic and drug addict

That's fine, I'm glad you got help

You are getting divorced

That's fine because even though I'm six I know all marriages don't work

You are having my dad and I move into my Aunt's house

That's fine, I love playing with my cousin

You say it's too expensive to raise a family here

That's fine I understand money is tight

You want to move to Tennessee

That's fine, I remember our last vacation when we visited there

You don't get a job when you move

That's fine, I know you want to spend plenty of time with my little sister

You have three kids in two years

That's fine I know you always wanted your kids to be close in age (I guess that didn't happen when my sister and I were 10 years apart)

You say the family would be complete if I was with you

That's fine because I was the one who left

You say you're always there for me

but...

Where were you when I needed help with my school work, help looking for my first homecoming dress, help searching for colleges, where were you when I just needed a hug?

But, it's fine.

She was there when I needed someone and she was more than willing

I am who I am because she raised me

(Thank you to the best Auntie in the world!)
