From Then to Today

From then to today

the flag that stood so tall in the sky, held by the weight of more than just the soldiers that grasped it

the soldiers that fought so hard, so much

the soldiers that fought for the rights and the acceptance of many

From then to today

even now the soldiers fight so hard, so much

the solders, they fight for the rights and the acceptance of many

From then to today

those soldiers, these soldiers

is this panic and exclusion what they have chosen

these people, those people

is this death and fear the result of the battle they fought

From then to today

solidiers taste their own blood in their mouths

soldiers see a community's blood spattered

soldiers see their own community's blood spattered

From then to today

even the soldiers, those solidiers fought the fear, these soldiers fight the fear

From then to today

the friends, neighbors, children, parents, grandparents

the community

the community these soldier's bleong to are afraid and trembling

From then to today

death, war, and destruction is unacceptable in other countries

From then to today

the land of the free and home of the brave continues to ignore the fear of its own community

From then to today

they say this country is so great

From then to today

we all continue to struggle

From then to today

domestic terrorism is ignored in favor of instilling foreign based fear

From then

help

From today

help
