There Goes My Life (Watching You Drive Away)

Watching you drive away

was like trying to stop the rain

so I stood there watching

wishing you'd come back

Watching you drive away

was like being ripped in half

I watched you push the gas

not once did you look back

Watching you drive away

I realized something today

never before, have I so hated the sight

the sight of disappearing tail lights

Watching you drive away

I knew my life was going to change

forever still, I'll be standing here

waiting for you to come back, my dear

Watching you drive away

I knew you'd never come back again

but my mind keeps racing with what could have been

and as I watched those disappearing lights

I whispered to myself, "there goes my life"
