There I Stay

Location

I see the line of water

Kissing the the top of my head

My hair sticks out slightly

The cool breeze of life caressing it

And there I stay

Hovering just below a lifetime

A lifetime of possibilities

Where my heart yearns to unfold unto

But my soul knows its tragic tale

If I just pushed myself up a little further

Opened my eyes to see the vastness around me

I could tell you of the day I drowned

The day I decided to save myself

But low and behold

I already have told you this story

You know it all too well

And that’s why I’m here

Floating ever so gently

Feeling my body shiver into darkness

Into emptiness

That is why I won’t move this time

Because I have been here before

Time and time again

The water pushes me along

But here I am

Letting it take me once and for all

Letting it guide me up up and away

I see the line of water

Kissing the top of my head

My hair sticks out slightly

The cool breeze of life caressing it

And there I stay

Guide that inspired this poem:

This poem is amazing. I love the metaphor of in a way trying to stay afloat. And the picture with it is a great choice. Please read my poems because I would like your feedback
