They say glow upHurry to

They say glow up

Hurry to grow up

But I cry out slow down

I never want to leave town

My life has been grand

A dream but on land

Little did I know growing

didn't have to mean slowing

the overflow of smiles

that could truly last miles

my grandfather told me

old people tell good stories

He promised me if I listened

I'd see the way their eyes glistened

I realized that day

There was no need for my dismay

Growing up only means

having more stories to tell
