They see our hands intertwinedand

They see our hands intertwined

and all they see is two girls

They don't see the way our eyes kiss each other

or how her heart keeps me safe from the cold

What they see is two abominations

Sins raised straight from hell

sent to taint their little children

Demons that will burn for what they did

They see a sludge of grime

and avoid even brushing up against us

If I could, I would make them see

the beauty of her and me

and that the thousands of particles

that compose us were all stars

and mountains

and oceans

I would make them see

how she kisses me before bed

and makes my sleep safe

And how gently her lips caress my name

and how her existance is bliss

I would make them see

that like any other pair of lovers

we kiss, we cry, we laugh

we lust, and we laugh

We're humans and we deserve to be able to say "I do"

We deserve to walk the streets without fear

We deserve to go on dates without lying to our parents

And we deserve to love
