They told me to write a poem;

A poem that would describe my pains, my adversities.

One that would be a summary of everything I am and wish I were,

Of sadness, injustice, and everything I have bottled up.

They wanted a poem of expression of my deepest pains and desires.

But what would I recite about?

Would I write about my greatest fears, the pains, the knots in my throat?

Or my insecurities, slowly killing me from within,

The demons inside me eating my insides,

Haunting, mocking me.

Or would I write about my indecisive future,

the light at the end of the dark tunnel.

A tunnel that seems to be closing, trapping,

The smell of failure.

They told me to write a poem, but what of?
