Those Nights

She sits on the swing right outside her window.

The window where she use to sneak out of every night.

It's 1 in the morning and her thoughts lead her back.

Back to when she adventured the nights with him.

She imagines herself running up the dark and empty street.

The street that holds all the memories to her heart.

Wanting to just live in those memories one again.

But again is the problem that keeps happening.

Longing to replay the venturesome scenes once more before their gone.

But gone is the boy that left the small town and the heart broken girl.

So she just sits on the swing and imagines.

Imagines what it could've been like.
