The Three Words

Dear Mrs. Whatsherface,

I have wanted to finish this letter to you for years.

I have started writing it many times but never had the heart to write the three words.

I have wanted to say three words to you since the day you broke my heart.

I have wanted to say three words to you since you gave me my last bruise.

I have wanted to say three words to you since you destroyed my life.

Three words since you ruined my credibility.

Three words since I thought I lost all hope.

Three words since I found hope in myself.

Three words since I found my happiness.

Three words since I finally moved on.

Three words since I've rebuilt my life.

Three words that finally set me free.

I Forgive You.

With forgiveness,

Jasmin Munoz-Anguiano
