Three's of Death

They say that things go in threes.

Such as bad luck and the three primary colors but,

Don't they forget about the rest.

They say things go in threes.

Don't forget about these,

The cheerleader, basketball player and the track star.

They say things go in threes.

What about these,

One in the thrall of distraction, another from Winter's touch, and the last from the watery brew.

They say things go in threes.

Have you thought about these?

One in a pale hickory box,

One in a burst of fire, and the

Last in a cloud of ash.

They say things go in three.

Have you thought about those they leave behind?

Three schools full of loss and crying,

Three schools spreading awareness,

Three schools sending prayers to three families.

Have you heard the saying that things go in Three’s?
