The Thrill of Theatre

The thrill chases the chill

My body seems to shudder

Lighting flashes in my eyes

The audience is the thunder

Words roll of my tongue

Shouting above the madness

My heart pounds against my chest

As if stuck in blackness

I cry out my feelings

In dramatic desperation

I hear the “oo” and “aww”

As they watch me in affection

They seem to watch me carefully

As I strut across the stage

Never do I turn against them

Unless I shout my jealous rage

I kill them with my kindness

And amaze them with my skill

Faking my real-life situation

For the drama of Theatre Thrill
