This Time

Those sleeping hours
when my  worry slips away alongside consciousness.
And dreams become reality.
Fighting, breathing, freeing.
Night.
When all that invades my erected walls Is starlight
When I let my heart rival my mind
And the only objections to be heard ...Are mine.
Against silly, stupid....captivating...lovely...
Dreams.
Where my wandering thoughts go unchecked
Driven by passion ...a glimpse of freedom... A sprinkle of hope...
Restrained by fast vanishing doubt.
Perhaps ill throw limbs and trunk and all towards courage...this time.
Yes. This time ill untangle myself from this cycle.
This time ill cast uncertainty to oblivion
Seize control.
But alas ...this time, ill Retreat all the same at the sound of the distant sirens signaling intruding  light.
Moonlight?
No.
Sunlight conquering time
Chaining my dreams to reality
Me to my current life...
For the time being at least,
In a dungeon beneath reason's crumbling tower.
But I won't run
And my dreams will  remain till tonight
Unscathed by those waking hours
