The Timing of Sunsets

If I could change one thing

In this world of random chances

I would change how long sunsets cling

So I would have time to take a million glances.

I would make the sun set slower

And have the watercolor sky linger

So that before the day was over

I could paint it with my finger.

But I guess the reason it passes quickly

And does not linger in the sky

Is so the moon doesn’t become sickly

And the stars don’t have to die.
