You wonder why we cry and whine

It's because homework is a waste of time

We're not stupid, we know the junk

But when school's out we like to get on our funk

Straight "A" students are failing your class

They have too much homework, so they don't pass

Believe it or not, we do have a life

Some work, play sports, or whittle with their knife

So please, oh please, just hear us out

Maybe you'll understand what we're all about

We like our grades; we like to succeed 

Nobody likes report cards with D's
