A Toxic Friendship

Location

Another twenty-four hours
My eyes burned another hole in the wall
Gunshot wounds from my Civil War
Cant get up so I'm learning to crawl

My sister and her friend
Across the hall
Mine's shiny and sharp
I need him to feel anything at all

He's an artist
He paints in red
Cross-hatching is his specialty
Sending thrills to my head

He's a priest
He lets the demons out
Performing an exorcism
Exiting, they scream and they shout

He's a calligraphy artist
For a piece of paper he hunts
A farewell letter in my blood
You'll only write once

I need to leave now
My time has come
Holding my white flag in surrender
The demons have won
