Tracks of My Tears

When I look back
At our time together
I realize what we had
I took too lightly, like a feather.

The fun, the laughs,
The smiles, your kiss-
These are things
You can't expect me not to miss.

It ended so fast
So suddenly, so quick;
It was like shaving
And getting a nick.

Except this nick grew
And cut open my heart.
Your words, your presence
Pricked me like a dart.

But now, months later
You're back in my life.
I see how happy this makes you
But it fills me with strife.

For miles they run,
My insecurities and fears-
Because I loved you and I hope
You can't see the tracks of my tears.
