True Colors

I don't like having to act like someone I'm not,

but to be myself, I won't have any friends by a long shot,

I want to show who I really am,

but no one has ever said, "you can,"

I have tried showing my true colors more than once,

but everyone accuses me of being a dunce,

I finally decided enough was enough,

but I'll admit, at first it was a little rough,

I was happier in the long run,

but right away it didn't bring much fun,

I knew it was the right thing to do,

So when are you going to start being the real you?
