Twine

Build me a home to hide in

To grow, to live and to die in

I’ve made my bed for me to lie in

Made of sewn cotton and pine

Couldn’t I just stay in limbo here?

The hands on the clock would disappear

And the days and weeks all would smear

To create a world without time

Couldn’t I walk around the world?

A wondering silent mixed up girl

And no one would see my life unfurl

Hanging by a weakened twine

Couldn’t I just refuse to act?

Close my eyes and ignore the facts

And how then might you react

In a world where you were mine?

Dig me a hole to hide in

To grow, to blossom and to die in

I’ve plowed my grave for me to lie in

To swallow and bury my pride
